Mise……..Myself.

Looking up the word ‘profile’ it is described as an overview of a person.

So who am I?

I am known to most people as Joan McDowall but some still refer to me as Joan Flitcroft, [It’s a Scottish Border thing!] I was born in Peterborough, Ontario

but grew up in the border village of Canonbie.

In 1969 I married James McDowall and divorced him in 1993, Enough said about that.

We have 2 sons, Kevin born in 1972 and Dougie in1974. Between them they have given me 6 grandchildren, 3 boys and 3 girls and as of yesterday 4/5/09 , I understand number 7 is on the way!!

Having not attained very much at school all of my qualifications have been gained since I was forty, the last one being in 2001 when I qualified to be a counsellor. So I guess I am what is known as a ‘Life Long Learner’ and there are still those around who are trying to get me to go to Glasgow Uni…..some chance, my brain can take no more.

My passions are Spirituality and Politics, my likes are good food and good company. I am blessed with many friends of all persuasions this keeps me on my toes and continually challenged.

My star sign is Gemini which says it all!
